Watching The Fault In Our Stars made me bawl my eyes out!

9:30 pm

Okay, where should we begin? (See what i did there with the okay?!)

About a month ago I wrote a blog post about reading the book the Fault in our stars and I have finally got round to watching it and let me tell you I was crying for most of time! (You should of seen my good chummy Katie, she welled up when the film started!)

I felt that reading the book made me appreciate the film more however they did leave a few bits out which didn't really affect the story line but if added would make the film even better. They missed out the chapter/scene where hazel is outside a cafe reading her book and a little girl comes up to her and asks her about her breathing tubes. This scene was very poetic in the book and i felt a little disheartened that this moment wasn't added to the film. They also left out the bit where Augustus is fighting with his parents before they go to Amsterdam. This was another one of my favourite bits as in the book you wonder why Augustus was arguing with his parents which added suspense whereas with the film it came as a shock to the people who hadn't read the book when Augustus told hazel something that would change the whole mood of the film (I am trying to sound as vague as possible as I don't want to spoil it for people who are planning on reading the book or going to watch the film!)

By far my favourite moment of the whole film though had to be the ending. When you have watched the film (Or if you have already) you will understand what I mean. The ending monologue with hazel talking just made me bawl my eyes out. The speech that the actress playing hazel performed was outstanding. With the books ending I felt that the monologue wasn't as good however the film gave it the ending it deserved; it was a lot more meaningful to me.

The atmosphere at the cinema was incredible and by the end everyone was in tears; especially me who was bawling my eyes out for ten minutes with Sian and Katie trying to calm me down. The film was a lot more emotional by a long way.

I really do recommend you watch the film and you have been warned to bring tissues!!

I will leave this blog with a post that I saw on my Facebook wall which just made me really excited. If you have read my blog post on inside jokes and forming a Mexican Peruvian band you will totally understand where i'm coming from...
