Thoughftul Thursday || Trusting yourself and Comfort zones

It feels like ages since I have done a blog post (even though I did one 3 days ago!). I really love blogging as it gives me a space to de-stress from exams and just concentrate on making people happy! life has been a bit hectic with mock exams to revise for, D of E packing to do for my expedition and becoming a prefect yet in the midst of all this blog has become my little piece of heaven! My blog post today is about becoming head girl or boy.
If you are an older reader than you will know that applying to become head boy or girl is very daunting! Today at my school, all the prefects had an assembly on whether you wanted to become a head girl or boy with a slideshow on what they would do to represent the school and what qualities they should have. All throughout the assembly I was unsure whether I should go for it. I wouldn't say that I am shy but public speaking and having an interview with a one of the deputy head teachers or head of house makes me feel a little queasy. The main disadvantage I have is likability. the whole school votes and lets just say I definitely don't class myself as popular; rather the opposite. The popular people in our school have to deal with drama, arguments and rumors being started and this isn't my cup of tea. I am happy with my little unicorn friendship group as I am accepted for who I am and my Chummies understand this, this is why I love them so much! With the whole school and teachers voting i'm scared that I won't be voted for as there are lots of girls who in my point of view stand a better chance. However you won't know if you would of been successful until you try. This is why i'm going to give it a shot. Even if I don't get shortlisted to write my manifesto, at least I gave it a go!
I feel that in my school years I have gained a lot of confidence in myself and have learned to trust myself more in things that are out of my comfort zone. I think that I have also become more self aware of others in the fact that I can really appreciate the small things in life and try not to dwell on the negatives. I think that everyone should at least once a week, trust themselves and do something that is out of your comfort zone. In fact i make this a Blogger challenge with the prize if you complete this task being a magical unicorn*. Down below are 5 things that I have done out of my comfort zone this week that might inspire you to give it a go!
5 things I have done that have been out of my comfort zone this week:
1 ~ On Wednesday I recorded the melody of my GCSE music composition meaning I needed to sing into a microphone with headphones on which was pretty scary as some of my classmates, including some people who are a little mean to me were listening as the room has to be silent apart from me singing in order to get a good recording take. (SCARY!)
2 ~ I talked to my enemy and told her that instead of arguing we are just going to ignore each other
3 ~ I applied to be a Shout ambassador as I want to be part of their smile campaign and make people smile! (with the added bonus of getting to interview Zoe and Louise from Zoella and Sprinkle of Glitter and write a fortnightly blog for shout if I get it x *silently squeals inside*)
4 ~ I told one of my Chummies Sian from Siansdailyrandoms something very personal and we had a private chat about what was on our minds which was very much out of my comfort zone!
5 ~ Lastly this one I haven't done yet but I plan on applying to be head girl and give it a go.
Coming out of your comfort zone is a huge thing a doesn't happen overnight. By coming out of your comfort zone in small steps, it will help you improve your confidence hugely and you will be able to trust yourself more easily.
