For Christmas I got Taylor Swift's album '1989', the deluxe edition. It included the CD and little Polaroid pictures with quotes from each song which I found so inspiring and unique as no other artist/musician has ever done this and I plan on stringing them up around my room. I thought today I would do a quick low down on each track song to give you a feel of each song and how I interpret them and what inspired Taylor to write it if I know.
Welcome to New York
This is the first track on the album and is very synthy and repetitive in the chorus which made it very catchy and ended up being the song that stuck in my head for a long time after listening to the whole album. Taylor mentions that this song was inspired through her coming to 'The big city' for the first time and how she finally knew what she wanted to do with her life as a artist and as a person.

Blank space
This track has already been released as a single and was utterly amazing. The music video was hilarious as it is obvious that Taylor is fed up of being portrayed as needing to be in a relationship and being 'Syco' when this is ridiculous. All these rumors are the main focus of this song as she pokes fun of the media with lines like 'I've got a long list of ex lovers, they'l tell you i'm insane' and 'I get drunk on jealousy'. Even in her music video she acts like this crazy woman who even drops the actor who's playing her boyfriend's phone in the pond and stabs a knife into a portrait of him with mascara ferociously running down her face. Taylor definitely puts the media on the right track with this sassy song and shows them how ridiculous the rumors are. And no, its not Starbucks lovers!
Style
This is the third song to be released as a single and was released on Friday 13th February. This song is my 'journey song' in the sense that I would listen to it while traveling as it has that type of softness to it however it is upbeat at the same time. This is my favourite song to listen to as it inspires me the most.
Out of the woods
I feel like this song is about Taylor swifts experience in a troubled relationship and perhaps how they stick together through the 'rough patches'. This song is definitely Swiftys power ballad with a powerful chorus with the lyrics being very catchy.
All you had to do was stay
This is Taylor's reflection song of what happened during her relationship and how the relationship crumbled to nothing and how she wants him to 'stay'.
Shake it off
A song to all of Taylor Swifts Haters. She's over boyfriends and everyone telling her what to do and change. she's being herself and that's what I love about this song so much. Her message is to not care what others think and just do what makes you happy, not letting people rule you. During the music video she tries lots of different dance styles and tries to fit in but finds that she should just do her own thing and by the end of the video, is dancing like crazy to her 'own beat' .
I wish you would
This song is very beaty and is another big ballad on the album, The basis for the song was that the man passes his ex girlfriends house and thinks that she hates him when all she wants is him to come back and them to become friends again.
Bad blood
This song is a anger filled song with Taylor singing about a deep, trusting relationship which ended horribly wrong with Taylor left hurt. It's a good song to vent anger out to if your ever feeling angry with lyrics including 'Band aids don't fix bullet holes' and 'Now we got problems and I don't think we can solve them'.
Wildest dream
A very dream like song with the song being based on a 'toxic relationship' where the girl knows its going to end messy and just want the boy to 'remember her' when he leaves.
How you get the girl
The title says it all. Taylor sings a lot about how the relationship should be like and how you should stick with it through thick and thin, promising to love each other for worse and for better. In this track their is a distinct guitar playing in this track which is a nice addition.
This Love
A slow track with echoey effects added to the singing which make it sound epic. The message of this song is about finding what love is about and what you want from a relationship.
I know places
The track starts like a tape recorder starting up which I found an awesome sound effect. Taylor mentions on the voice memos that this song was written about the effect of paparazzi and publicity on a relationship and how in order to make it work they had to go 'places where they can't be found',
Clean
A bassy track with the song being about a toxic relationship which the girl got out of and she now realizes that it was never meant to be, feeling finally 'clean' that the relationship is over.
Wonderland
The 'wonderland' of a relationship until something goes wrong. This song reminds me of Alice and wonderland because of the title and the reference of 'going mad' makes me think of the mad hatter for some reason.
You are in love
This is another one of my 'traveling songs because of its slow beat and the lyrics talk about the feeling of falling in love and the new experiences with it. The song is also kinda dreamy which is why I love it.
New romantics
An upbeat song on the feeling of being free from love and not having the time to date. The song talks about going on a travelling adventure with friends and being interested in having a holiday romance however knowing that its going to end. Lyrics include 'Heart break is the national anthem' and 'We are too busy dancing to get knocked off our feet'
Taylor is amazingly skilled at composing so when I found out that on the deluxe album there were 3 voice memos of her explaining three of her methods of songwriting, I got very excited! I LOVE to compose music so this really inspired me as a musician and gave an in depth look at the process of having an idea and making a couple of rough recordings and how the rough copy had changed and adapted to the final version on the album. She talks about the writing process for 'Blank space', 'I know places' and 'I wish you would'.

For me, all of these songs could easily be chart No. 1's and are all different yet amazing in their own way.
So BloggerBeans, What's your favourite Taylor Swift song of all time and from 1989?
