Room Refurbishments

Tumblr room

Hello Bloggerbeans,
With school out forever I decided to take a stand and de-clutter my room! Unlike some people my age, my room isn't that messy, I just don't have anywhere to store my stuff which is a tad annoying. During the summer a pair of chest of drawers and vanity table will be arriving hopefully solving the crisis of my overflowing clothes drawers and wardrobe and the 'makeup situation' where I am having to store all my makeup in a washing basket. This isn't the ideal storage option but is the best alternative I have until these items arrive. With all this going on I thought it was about time I made my room look less like a reclusive cave and more like a place which is sort of a relaxing haven before I start college as I want my room to inspire me, not make me feel stressed by being un orgnaised.

I have already brought 2 canvases for my room which should be going up on my walls soon however I still have a lot to do. I'm finding myself recently going to Pinterest for inspiration and it hasn't disappointed me. A few pinteresty projects I want to attempt are:

  • Stringing pretty fairy lights all round my room. This may prove difficult when finding somewhere to plug them in but hopefully I will find some long enough to reach a plug in my room (Fingers crossed!)
  • I also want to buy some string and peg pictures along it so I can look at all the amazing memories I have made with the people I care about the most in one glance.
  • Carrie Hope Fletcher, A fellow writer, blogger and Youtuber,  recently moved in her flat (The #Hopefulhouse) and painted one wall of her bedroom with chalkboard paint which has inspired me to want to do the same to one of my empty walls. I may decide to paint the whole wall or just a section but I really hope I can do this.
  • If the Chalkboard paint idea doesn't go to plan then I want to turn the wall into a 'quote wall' with quotes which make me feel inspired and happy as I want my room to be a place of happiness and not just somewhere I 'live'. The only problem is I don't want to write them on myself as I don't have the neatest of handwriting and fear that I will make a mistake so I will need to invest in some good stencils.
  • Lastly I want to buy some frames to put my posters in (especially my Luke Cutforth and Emma Bakery signed poster) as It will make them look more neater instead of being stuck on with bluetack.

I'l let you guys know how I get on and will definitely do a room tour once I'm done in August.

Before I go I want to let you guys know about an awesome site called Festival Bizzares which sells awesome jewellary and other little trinkets which are all amazing. If I could, I would buy pretty much everything on their website however I am trying to save for SITC so unfortunately can't. If you like festivals, Jewelry and other little Jems then I would definitely recommend this for you!*

*I haven't been paid to say this and mean it whole hardheartedly when saying their handmade items are epic.
