Thoughtful Thursday || Determination for New Year Resolutions.

Hello Bloggerbeans,
Happy New year! My first post of 2015 is a Thoughtful Thursday on the topic of Determination. It's the time of year where we all make a New Years Resolution and attempt to stick at it and when January the first rocks up most of us do follow through however by the end of the month some of us just end up giving up (Including myself sometimes)
So what is the secret to keeping your resolution? DETERMINATION.
Most peoples New Year Resolutions are to give up something which is good but how about instead doing something new or doing something you enjoy more to make sure that you are more likely in keeping it as for me giving up something completely is INCREDIBLY hard and I give you dear reader a imaginary medal if you have been able to give up something. (Well done indeed!)
Making sure your resolution is something realistic is a must. This is important as if you do unfortunately end up breaking it (well done for trying) you will feel guilty in not being able to complete it. The resolution must be achievable. One year I set my goal to read ALL 12 of Louise Rennisons books and I managed incredible 7 out of the 12 which is over half and quite impressive however even with 7 I was disappointed with myself as I had my heart set on completing them all. I should of made it more realistic like ' Read as many books as I can' without giving myself a limit or pressure if I for some reason don't complete it. 7 was better than none and you must remember that having a go and trying is better than not bothering.
Lastly just keep on swimming! Even when things get tough think about the end goal and what you will achieve as it will be worth it in the end
so to recap here are my three helpful tips in helping make sure you keep your new years resolution.
- Realistic goals
- Instead of giving up something, how about do more of something or do something new?
- Just keep going, Persistence is key.
I hope these tips help! Tell me down in the comments what your New Years Resolution is. Mine this year is to Follow my heart and do more of what makes me happy.
