Book review Monday || Sweet Honey by Cathy Cassidy

Hello BloggerBeans,
It has been a while since I uploaded and the longer I have left it, the more guilty I have felt (even though I know there is no need to be.) My internet is still broken which sucks so I have made arrangements with my good friend Phoenixie pixie that I can go to hers to upload which is a massive favour that I am very grateful for.
Book review Monday is in its third week and I am enjoying very muchly these style of blogposts. Todays review is on one of my favourite childhood authors, Cathy Cassidy. Ever since I was around 8 she has and still is my favourite author as I admire and adore her writing style. In her books she has covered a number of serious topics including bullying, eating disorders, dealing with parents divorcing and feelings of being not understood. I have been lucky enough to meet Cathy and she is the loveliest person I have ever met and is very inspiring as she talked in a Q and A which I attended about always daydreaming as a child and wanting to write and encouraged all her fans to never stop believing in their dreams which was an important thing to hear for me.
Sweet Honey is the 5th book in her 'chocolate box girls' collection and is aimed at older readers around 13-15. Her books may seem a little young however her books are very relatable even as I approach 16. The book series focuses on the lives of 5 sisters who in each book write about their viewpoint on their lives with the first book being about cherry and her dad Paddy moving in with her step mum called Charlotte and her stepsisters called Coco, Summer, Skye and Honey. However Honey resents her new step sister and all throughout the books causes a lot of trouble which eventually in the latest book 'Sweet Honey' leads her to moving away and living with her dad who lives in Australia. She has always looked up to her dad and fought his corner even when he left her mum back when she was little but is her dad really the 'hero' she remembers?
This book has a great plot twist and deals with cyber bullying, feeling lost all while Honey tries to leave her past behind her and start fresh. Cathy's books will definitely leave you wanting more.
