Hello again,
If you have read my other blog post from today you would know that today wasn't a great day. If you don't already know, contradicting yourself is when someone say one things and does the other. This is one of my pet peeves and I hate it when people do this. I have had many people make rude remarks about me over the last couple of days ranging from remarks about my hair to what I look like and it is disgusting. Yes I don't have a perfect washboard stomach, spot free skin or a thigh gap however what I do have is beauty on the inside.
Everybody is beautiful in their own way and it bugs me how people have to insult people to feel good about themselves.I have friends of many shapes and sizes and can tell you that no matter what shape you are everyone has insecurities. I find it hard to see why people need to make comments. If you are happy about your body shape, that's great and i'm happy for you as for me i'm not there at the moment. It has taken me so long to realize it doesn't matter what size I am as long as i'm healthy and I enjoy life. Weight has been a bit off a issue as I used to be on the 'podgy' side but I have tried and succeeded in losing it however I still have insecurities about my body; just like many other people. I try to take take those mean comments with a pinch of salt but it really does get me deep down.
Unfortunately people don't understand that I am hurt by what they have said as I am the type of person that tries to keep their cool which gets me angry as everyone thinks that i'm fine' when i'm obviously not if someone has called me 'Fat' or 'ugly. It is definitely not okay to say things like that as the after effects are a lot more damaging as it can ruin their confidence and self esteem.
Obviously you are going to be hurt by what they have said or are saying but you must not let it get to you. A good way to cope with negativity is to listen to music that calms you and puts you in a good mood. By doing this you can ignore what they are saying to you and escape into your own thought bubble. (I do this quiet a lot). Down below are a mixture of songs which help to embrace my anger and then let it go.
