Hello Bloggerbeans,
After my last blogpost I felt finally at peace with myself and ready to come back. I felt that I needed to just let you all know that I am still here and not gone forever. I think its good just to have a little bit of hiatus from things to clear your mind and start fresh. What better than to have my first post be a good old day in the life as these are my favourite to write as I love sitting on my bed and having a almost diary log entry style of my day permanently here to look back on. When I went to meet Louise at her book signing last year HERE, I was beyond ecstatic just to have a quick hello and to sign my book. well somehow I was super lucky and got VIP tickets to her stage show known as Louise Live which is a very funny show full of laugh out moments on topics such as Relation-tips where she gave advice on the struggles and pinnacles of dating (which coming out of a relationship this year could wholeheartedly relate to) and the wonders of Bad ass Motherhood.
My day started off with getting up incredibly early to get ready and then head to the train station to get on a train to London. I decided to wear my cat camisole from Louise's clothing line and paired it with my white skater skirt along with my Tardis necklace which was given to me as a Christmas present. if it wasn't for wanting to wear the Cat camisole I would of gone full Autumnal with a jumper and hat and dark red lipstick. I think I need to write a whole other post dedicated to my autumnal obsession which has been developing...
Once we were on the train I spent most of it texting my good friend Bethany full of excitement who I met through Louise after she re-tweeted Bethany's tweet about her not having anyone to go with and then 4 months later here I was going to finally meet her! I tried to listen to my Dear John and Hank podcast but was mostly nervous with anticipation of finally meeting both Bethany and Louise.
After a good 2 hour Train Journey we were finally in London and began to take the tube from Waterloo to Shepherds bush. Getting to shepherds bush was the easiest of it all as we then had to figure out where the venue was and got lost quite a bit. My dad and I ended up having to ask a number of people for directions however finally we made it to outside the 02 Academy. It wasn't long before I saw Bethany walking towards the venue where I was standing outside. I couldn't believe that we were both going to be meeting Louise and at Louise Live as I really wanted to go last year but had no one to go with however this time I wasn't alone! Bethany introduced me to her friends Rosie and Paris and we then started to queue up to go inside and meet Louise.
In the picture above with Bethany we can see that I did attempt to curl my hair however with it being so stubborn it fell flat within a couple of hours however it remained a little wavy which is a plus. *facepalm*
After around 15 minutes of queuing outside we began to make our way inside after having our bags checked. Unfortunately as soon as I made my way in I was told my blogging camera I had round my neck would have to be handed in and collected after the show. I was so gutted as I wanted to take so really high quality shots of the stage before and after and of the venue however had to use my iPhone which was alright but not as snazzy. We then all waited in a room until the door on the other side of the room opened and a heavenly glow appeared (this being the always gorgeous Louise accompanied by Tony the very official security guard, Maddie from Gleam and Darcy who throughout the meet and greet was looked after by Maddie.) We were one of the last people to be met by Louise but it was just such a wonderful experience. I was incredibly nervous and we talked about a number of things including cats where Louise proceeded to tell me the story of how her Boyfriends Mum asked this guy to neuter her kittens but she just killed them all. As one of the biggest crazy cat ladies I was mortified and was so shocked. The picture below is one of my favourite that was taken with Louise and accurately portrays the moment after I had heard the story and tried to look happy after maybe being slightly traumatised. Louise if your reading this I am recovering fine #thosepoorcats
'act happy'
I still can't believe though that I was given this amazing opportunity to meet such a humble and gracious person. I love how raw and honest she is and after the video on her channel about her wanting to create more older geared content and Re-branding to just Louise Pentland, I am really happy that she is evolving herself and that she's letting others know that they can do that too which is great. I started my blog after being inspired by such people as Louise and I think its just incredible to see the growth of her Channel and blog over the years I have been following for. All these things were the things I was going to tell her in person but ended up forgetting so at least I have voiced this somewhere ready for if I bump into her again.
Louise and I
After the meet and greet we went to find our seats ready for the show to start. When walking into the Theatre space I was just blown away by how utterly beautiful the design of the set and the detail of props. The screen backdrop was of Louise's bed headboard and hanging from the ceiling of the stage their was big flowers and filament light bulbs and flowers to represent fairy lights which I think was a very clever idea. Everything was really thought out and well placed and it was as if Louise had taken her bedroom and Pinterest idea board and transferred it onto the stage. It was all so magical!
The beautiful set
Bethany and I before the show.
The show began with an upbeat and funny video montage of clips from Louise's Main and Vlogging channel edited to a really upbeat song. I felt it was perfect to start her show off as it showed all the amazing things she had done along with moments with friends and family. Louise then came on after the video had finished and started her set off. I don't think I have ever laughed as much as I did while Louise was telling all of her anecdotes. At one point I turned to Bethany and their were cry laugh tears in the corner of our eyes. she was just so un-apologetically honest and hilarious. The things she was talking about I could relate to so much. I think it was so perfectly scripted and written with each topic and skit done so well. I know Louise was really nervous as this show was being filmed for a DVD by the BBC however she absolutely nailed it.
In the second half she had a bit of audience participation which involved three chosen volunteers who had already been chosen and them telling their most embarrassing story. I found this so funny especially the girl who had a Nandos mishap with the machine breaking. In the second half there was like the previous years the Body Confidence section which Louise was going to take out but she kept in and I hope she does in future Louise Live shows as it was really important to highlight as I think everybody at some point struggles with their appearance and feeling confident in their own skin. She got us to do this exercise where we all stood up and raised our hands if we had every thought negatively about our bodies. She then got us to stand up and look around at everyone else and asked us if we thought anyone in the room looked ugly and that was obviously 'no' as everyone was beautiful in their own way. The point of the exercise being that no one cares what we look like so why should we waste our time feeling horrible and beating ourselves for not being the ideal perfect when theirs no point as we're all unique. It really left me thinking about this and I plan to use the tips about retraining your mind to think about your body in a more positive light.
Overall Louise did an amazing Job and I couldn't be prouder of everything she is doing and achieving. With Louise Live over for this year I really hope that she comes out with another Louise Live for 2017 as I really enjoyed myself and met some wonderful people who I hope to stay in contact with. It was just a perfect day for me.
If you were unfortunate to miss out on getting tickets this year or couldn't make it you can Pre Order the DVD of Louise Live HERE on amazon for £13.50
