The New Year || My hopes, dreams and ambitions for the future

Hello Bloggerbeans,

Wow, this year has gone EXTREMELY fast! So many things have happened. This year brought tears, laughter, happiness and purpose; Purpose in the sense that I know what I want to do with my life.

Going into the new year I aspire to be the best that I can be. For a long time I have thought about who I am and felt like I didn't know who I was. Looking at other people made me feel worse as they all had their own identity and I couldn't just copy them. I needed to be unique and embrace this. I now know where I am going though; home the long way round. (Ten teenage points for getting the Dr who reference)

I have a lot of plans for this blog going into 2015 as to me this is my everything. The amount of effort I have put into my blog makes me very happy as this is something that I enjoy. A little part of me now is always buzzing with possible post ideas and blogging gives me something to channel my creative energy into. When I started I never knew how much I loved to write and how easy the words flew from my head into words which I then type out. My writing has improved massively and I do look at some of my older posts from May and it astounds me how starting a blog has helped me a great deal with my writing skills. It has also has opened up my world and made me more inspired by things around me. Blogging has helped me to see how I have changed as a person and in some respects is a way for me to have a permanent record to look back at which is pretty cool when I look back and read my old posts.

This year is also a big year for me as I turn 16 which for me is daunting as this is the year where I do my exams and leave school, heading off to my chosen college with a expected knowledge of my future career. There is a lot of pressure for our age group with expectations from others higher than ever, which in no way is fair. Being 16 I am expected to know my whole life plan and to be honest I have no clue what I want to do as the minute I have a rough idea I end up changing my mind. People my age are all in the same boat. Pleasing people and doing a job that they will approve of was the path I was going down but talking with a good friend of mine made me think. I should do something I enjoy and not what others want me to do. I love drama and it has been a HUGE passion of mine. A career in the creative industry is something that I want to be a part of however lots of people have discouraged me saying things like 'it pays little' and 'You have to be good at it to get good roles'. In this world money is more important than happiness. Shouldn't our priorities change?

I hope that your year is filled with lots of amazing opportunities and that you decide to follow your dreams and not be afraid to go for it.

The Creative Corner! - Warm Fuzzies

I thought that today I would add a new segment to my blog which I call 'The Creative Corner' and will be where I will be showing you some simple crafts you can do at home. As its coming up to Christmas I will be focusing on how to create simple homemade presents to give either to friends or family. I find that there is nothing like someone taking the time and effort to make me something handmade and shows that they are thoughtful and also creative.

The first craft that I want to share with you is something called 'Warm Fuzzies'. I found out about this when I was in primary school and moving up to secondary school. My teacher made the whole class doodle on a envelope which over the next couple of weeks would be where others would write kind messages (Warm Fuzzies) for us so when we felt anxious about going to our new school, we could read a lovely message which would cheer us up. I thought that this was such a cool idea that I adapted it into a gift and decided use a glass jar instead of envelopes as it looks prettier. This gift is ideal for anyone whether that's a friend or a family member for constantly reminding them that you are there for them.

The whole concept of a warm fuzzy is to make you feel better if you are upset or in a bad mood - hence the name 'warm Fuzzies'.

To create a jar full of these Warm Fuzzies you will need:

Paper
A small Glass jar (I got mine very cheap from T.K max and was only £1.49)
Scissors
Lots of Colourful pens!

A small jar can roughly hold between 40 - 50 Warm Fuzzies.

First off fold your A4 piece of paper in half 4 times, making sure to fold along the short sides. This will give you 16 note size pieces of paper. you will need to do this another two times.

You should have around 48 pieces of paper to write your 'Warm Fuzzies' on. When writing your messages make them as personal as possible. You could write an inspiring message like the one below, A funny inside joke that you have with that person, random little messages or even reassuring reminders like 'Never forget that I am a phone call away'.

After you have written each message pop it into your jar and watch it slowly fill up!

Its finally Friday and for me the holidays have begun! I will definitely enjoy the 2 weeks that I am off school for (especially not having to get up early!). Today's post is a tag which was created by the amazing Matt Watson and is called 'The last time I..' and is where you say the last time you did something e.g the last time you baked a cake.

Watched a YouTube video

About half an hour ago. I am really enjoying old Zoe and Louise's videos, especially their old Vlogs. It really puts things in to perspective of how far they have come since starting YouTube.

Had a hot drink

This was yesterday evening. I had a coffee while doing some homework. I definitely think I have a caffeine addiction,,,

Sang a song

The last song I sang was defying Gravity, the glee version. I am having a obsession with the Wicked soundtrack and have it constantly playing on my laptop.

Read a book

I started the Hunger Games back in November and said in a blog-post HERE that I was planning on finishing it soon. The truth? I am still 4 chapters in and just haven't had time to read anymore however I am using the holidays as an excuse to read more and hopefully finish the book by Christmas.

Watched a movie

The last film I watched was 'Mockingjay' which was in cinemas a couple of weeks a go and still is (I think)

Ate something

Today was when our friendship group gave each other presents and lets just say I got a LOT of chocolate. Looks like someones going to need to go back to the gym after the holidays.. *silently sobs while tucking into a mini selection box*

Cuddled my guinea pigs

This evening. I always get them out most nights for cuddles, to have a run around and to nibble on some vegetable of some sort. They always make me happy when I cuddle them and I have to admit, they do make some peculiar yet funny sounds!

Spoke on the phone

With me, my phone calls vary from a few minutes to a good few hours. My longer conversations are usually with my friends. The last person I talked to on the phone though was one of my best friends Katie.

Had a sleepover

Again this one was with Katie. We had a lot of fun creating Sian's joint present, even if it did take a long while! Look out for 'The Creative Corner' which will be a new segment coming to my blog soon... (How exciting!)

Something New

Thursday has arrived and today I bring with me Something New (See what I did there?! I am hilarious...). I feel like I am going into a new stage of my life which I am looking forward to and slightly fearing at the same time. Going into the unknown is slightly daunting but I am excited for what the future holds!

The last couple of months for me have been hard for a number of personal reasons however I feel like things are finally looking up for me. I am hopeful for the future and what it brings; even though I may not know whats round the corner, I am going to embrace it with open arms.

Trying something new is exciting and is important in helping you grow as a person as if you always stay in your comfort zone you will always be afraid to try new things and may regret this later on in life. There are many things I haven't done for the first time mainly down to the fact I haven't been given the opportunity to and I am finding a lot of happiness in just the most simplistic things such as holding a cat for the first time (Kiri was so beautiful) and trying new food and even clothes. It was only a couple of months ago that I brought my first pair of jeans which I am so glad I did as I love them!

Doing something new may not be as simplistic as holding cat or trying an item of food or clothing and might be something much more bigger like moving house or school, starting a new job, telling someone you trust like an adult something that may have been worrying you or even being in the start of a new relationship. These are all BIG experiences which may be new to you and it is okay to be scared (I talk from experience). Like the quote above you must forget about the past and focus on the present and whats happening right now as going into a new environment or facing something you have never done before is daunting but you will soon easily adjust to your surroundings as its what us humans are good at doing :)

I think i'm ready for Something New, are you?

My morning today was filled with lots of things that I needed to do ready for when I go to college. These included discussing the fun topic of my future! (YEY!) I have a pretty rough idea of what I want to do, which is doing something with acting, however today was about preparing myself for when I will have to go and be interviewed for colleges which will only be a couple of months away (*Gasps*). We spent the day writing our C.V's and personal statements and even had a mock interview so we are prepared for when we have the real thing.

Because of this day, our school was off timetable and the year 11's were expected to come in smartly dressed. When I found out about the dress code I did slightly panic as most of my clothes are very informal and I needed to look half decent! I spent the whole of last night trying to come up with outfit ideas until I came across this combination which I rather do adore as it is smart yet really comfortable.

I wore a black dress with a black and white striped bottom which was from Primark, some tights which were also from Primark, my mums Brand new cardigan (which she let me borrow) with the top two buttons done up and my school brogue shoes which are from Shoe Zone.

I like the combination of a rather smart but slightly informal dress which is then made smart by the fitted cardigan which completes the outfit.

I also decided to prepare myself and get up early, which helped a great deal as it took me a good 30 minutes to do my makeup. Until this morning, I had forgotten how tedious makeup and mornings are and feel like they should never be combined. However it was worth putting in the effort as I did look a lot better without my face looking all red and angry!

I feel like it is time for another inspiring post and I have decide that this segment of my blog will be called 'Thoughtful Thursday' (Thank you Katie for coming up with this awesome catchy title!).

Kindness is a big thing and you should be kind to everyone; your friends, family, colleagues and strangers! Everyone should be respectful towards each other.

The saying 'kill them with kindness' is about taking the upper ground and being the better one and being nice even if they are reluctant to be kind back. Normally people who are not very nice to people are hurt inside and so inflict their pain onto others to make them feel the way they feel and that is not kind, nor is fair. This is why you should never be picky in who you are kind to, share your kindness out like confetti!

Random acts of Kindness are great ways of showing this! (They are free and are very easy to do!) This could be from opening a door for someone right to comforting someone who you see is upset and being there for them, or helping someone out.

Your task for this week is to do a 'Random act of kindness'. It won't just make the recipient feel happy, it will make you feel happy about yourself. This week my Random act of Kindness is to be kinder and not pre judge people.

Avon

Avon haul || Nail varnish, Lipstick and Christmas bubble bath.

November is in full swing and for me, the countdown for christmas has begun. In a previous post I did an Avon haul and thought as I recently ordered some more items that it would be a good idea to show you as I do love Avon!

So lets look at some of the gorgeous things that I ordered!

Mr frosty Bubble Bath - £2

Kabuki brush - £4

Calming effects loose powder foundation - £6

Colour trend Kiss 'n' go Lipsticks (Pink holiday and amethyst) - £3.75 each

Gel finish nail enamel in red velvet - £4

Pink Tangle Teezer - £9.99

Let me tell you that I am impressed by the quality of their products. What made me even more excited for Christmas was using the Mr frosty Bubble bath last week as it is practically Christmas in a bottle! I could not ask for anything better.

The Tangle Teezer was a product that I have brought in the past before and I do use on a daily basis. I find that with constant use the bristles start to bend out of shape so every year I always get a fresh new one for Christmas However this year because of the amount of occasions it had been shoved in my makeup bag for trips away and just constantly used I decided to replace it earlier.

Another item that I brought was the Colour trend Kiss 'n' go lipsticks which I did try and take pictures with me wearing them however the pictures were so blurry and out of focus when I went to add them to my post that I couldn't really use them *Face Palms*. Anyway the colours are quite subtle and are not at all bold in any way making them perfect for everyday use to just add some colour to your lips.

Lastly for the past couple of months I have wanted a dark red nail polish with a gel like finish as I find doing my nails very hard to do. when I usually do them I end up doing one hand perfect and the other terribly which is not good! This is why I like nail polishes which dry fast such as the Rimmel 60 second collection (which I adore) or if they are all in ones (base coat, colour and top coat). The Avon Gel finish nail polish is an all in one and is the nail polish I had been waiting for. When dry you can easily see the glossiness and it does not chip easily.

I am yet to use the kabuki brush or the loose powder foundation.
